WhatsApp makes it easier to organize your conversations with the launch of custom chat lists globally. This new feature expands on the chat filters introduced earlier this year and provides a more personalized way to manage your messages.
To create a custom list, click the plus sign ( ) icon in the filter bar at the top of the Chat tab. You can add personal contacts and group chats to the list, similar to how you use Favorites. For example, you can create separate lists for family members, coworkers, or community groups so you can quickly find important conversations in your chat inbox.
The new list will appear next to existing chat filters such as "All," "Unread" and "Groups" in the filter bar. If you need to make changes, just long-press on any list name to edit its contents, allowing you to add or remove conversations as needed. According to WhatsApp, the list has been rolled out to users today and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp also recently added a new home screen widget for iPhone users. After updating to version 24.21.81 or later, you can add widgets to access your recent chats, favorites, pinned conversations, or frequently contacted friends right from your iPhone home screen.
